In our case, we must use USB flash drives to print our projects. We have designated flash drives that belong to the library. Please save your print ready projects ( .makerbot files ) to the flash drive. Other files will be deleted.

When you submit your projects to be printed, they will be reviewed before printing. We have a limited amount of filament to be shared by everyone. We would like to avoid mistakes that cause our prints to fail. Each failed print wastes more material that will have to be thrown away.

1. Obtain a flash drive from a librarian and insert it to the USB port on your chromebook. Normally, the printer is connected to the internet for printing, which is why we have a Queue button. However, since we're not allowed to connect the printer to the network, we need to save our .makerbot files to a flash drive.
2. Ask a librarian to review your project before saving it to the flash drive. This keeps the us from wasting the material that needs to be thrown away and reprinting a new copy.
3. Click the 3 dots ( burger menu ) next to the Queue button
4. Click the Download option and save it to the flash drive
5. Eject it safely from the laptop ( DO NOT SIMPLY PULL IT OUT OF THE PORT )
6. Fill out the 3D Print Log ( see a librarian )

If it gets lost, have a librarian print another copy of the 3D Print Log. This will allow us to keep track of who submitted projects to print, which order they were submitted, and how many prints we do. In addition, this will provide data for us to show how popular this is and possible get more filament.
