About the Club

Project - 12-Pencil Holder

12-pencil-holderl.jpg For this project, we will be making a pencil holder with a center compartment for holding miscellaneous stuff. The model is called 12-Pencil Pot, but DO NOT ADD WATER as it will not hold.

Import your model

Editing - Add your name or initials

Add your name or initials in the center inside using the “Hole” option. This will leave space unprinted as if you “cut out” your name. See the image below for converting text to “hole”.

Editing - Cut the top

If we print it now, it will take too long to print, so we need to “cut” the top. To do that, do the following.

  1. Use the “Hole Box” ( grey box tool with lines through it) to create a cube object
  2. Place it on the workspace
  3. Move it “up” so that the the bottom is just above half way on the model
  4. Make the height of the “Hole Box” taller then the top of the model
  5. Make the object covers the entire section of the model, creating a shadow

Next step: Slicing
