Project - Benchy Boat

This is a typical first project for many people. It's a small, simple model that is ready to print.

  1. Download the file from printables.com. When you click the download button, it will take you to another section of the same page that lists the file(s) available to download. In this case, we only have 1 file ( .stl ).
  2. Click the download button next to it.
  3. Open tickercad.com. I assume you have already created an account. If not, do that now.
  4. Click the Create button to start a new TickerCAD project.
  5. Select the 3D Design option
  6. Click the import button

You now have a model in your project. Let's give the project a name. At the top left corner ( next to the colorful square ), you will see a random 2-word name. Click on the name to erase it and give it a new name.

Let's call this project Benchy Boat. Then press enter to save the name.

Add Your Initials
  1. Select the text tool on the right and click somewhere on the build plane.
  2. Change the color to white ( preset )
  3. Change the text from “TEXT” to your initials ( eg. MD )
  4. Reduce the size to somewhat smaller than the boat roof
  5. Rotate it to sit flat on the roof. The height needs to be enough to be half inside the roof and half sticking out of it.

Your model should look like this. If so, you are ready to prepare for printing.

Go to the editing page to prepare your model.
